Bog in a Bucket
Did you know that sphagnum moss from Whixall was used to make field dressings in World War I? Ever felt the sloughed (cast) skin of a snake? Had a close look at what’s left over when a dragonfly emerges? Stroked a sundew? A wealth of experiences awaits you! Come and meet Cath’s ‘pet’ bog-in-a-bucket and get close up to a bog without getting your feet wet. History, natural history, conservation and wonderful experiences make the Mosses a really special place!
Booking is not required for this event, although a £2 donation is recommended and always welcomed! The event will be at the Whixall Marina at Alders Lane, Whixall, Shropshire SY13 2QS.
Please bring along suitable footwear and clothing that is appropriate for the weather on the day. Park on the Whixall Marina car park, there are toilet and refreshments available at the café. Although the café is wheelchair accessible, sadly the toilet is not. Please email ahead if you have any concerns or questions about this event.
