Event Details

Enjoy a late spring walk around the moss and meet some of the iconic avian residents currently nesting there. The walk will be led by the highly knowledgeable volunteer and photographer Stephen Barlow. Fenn’s, Whixall and Bettisfield Moss is home to many great bird species including breeding pairs of curlew. There has also been an excess of 20 hobbies seen at one time on the moss. Don’t expect a silent walk, the stonechats will come and chirp at you when you’re stood in their territory.

This event is free to attend, but please email [email protected] to book your place as are there are limited spaces available. Meet at the Manor House car park for 1:30pm as the walk will leave promptly at 2pm. Please bring sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing. It could also be a good idea to bring some binoculars, insect repellent, sun cream and any drinks and snacks you will need.
