About the event
In this event, we’ll enjoy a easy-paced ramble from the marina along the Prees Branch canal to investigate the wildlife which has colonised this disused section of the navigation. We will be considering the importance of linear features as wildlife highways, as well as the wetland plant communities which flourish on the lagg of the mosses. A smattering of history, archaic facts about plant use as foods and medicines and interesting but fundamentally useless wildlife trivia will add to an entertaining and informative afternoon.
Whixall Marina is also a great place to grab a drink or some food and will be open before the walk and afterwards for much needed refreshments!
